Esplanade Singapore 2008

I had the honor sometime last month to perform together with Kewei and some of the best musicians @ the Esplanade, Singapore. Probably one of the venue which i have ever dream of performing at. And indeed it was a memorable one, Though just a lunchbox concert.=) It was actually Kewei's lunchbox concert and the last of the series of lunchbox concert in Esplanade.
We perform an array of chinese pop music. A genre i grew up listening..i mean im sure alot of you too listen to chinese pop stuffs but something i dont normally perform. It was a basically a concert depicting Kewei's journey as a singer herself frm the day she was involved in the music scene, to touring in concerts, and now..doing her own stuffs so it was pretty cool together with the acoustic setting of a grand piano, a Steinway mind ya with Yin Yi, guitar by Daniel Chai, me on Violin & of cos Kewei on vocals=)

The hall was dead silence with a capacity of about 500 to 600 ppl. Basically lunchbox is free admission so whoever citizen could just come in. But nevertheless, Kewei's fans is an abundant along with the support and family and friends=)
To sum it all up, it was indeed a concert/ performance to remember for me..thanks to Kewei!
Here below are some pics so you could see whats it like!
The lightings were amazing.....=)

QBE Insurance Awards Night@ Damai Beach Resort, Sarawak

=)
Dear all, this is gonna be a short post as im currently preparing for tmr's show in Bangkok Jazz and setting up my new studio at home..=) woohoo!
Would be showing ya some pics of my home studio once its done setting up and all tuned up!
Anyway last week, I was invited to perform in Sarawak last week, to be specific, Kuching....probably 45 mins off the city in this beach resort called Damai Beach Resort.=)
To be honest, i have absolutely no idea whats this show about and what is it for. All i know is im required to perform 3 of my original compositions in it.
Brian, my buddy who is a conductor/ music director and fellow violinist extraordinaire was the one who got me this show...
To elaborate more, its actually an award presentation ceremony for QBE Insurance, an Australlian based company. Most of the audiences invited were elderly gentlemen, along with some ladies as well of cos and the night was themed "SHANGHAI NIGHT!" Our entourage frm Kuala Lumpur consist of Local Shanghai/ Jazz songstress Janet Lee, Brian Tan & the Vivas and of cos me myself.
I had the opportunity to watch Brian performed at his best and it was in fact my first time watching him play live..I must say, it was mind blowing!!

Wedding Entertainment Workshop@ The Wedding Hub- www.the-weddinghub.com

Dear fellow earthlingssss...

I was invited by Kris frm The Wedding Hub/ weddingsmalaysia.com to give a talk and a workshop about wedding entertainment yest afternoon( Sunday) in the Wedding Hub located in ThreeTwo Square in section 13, PJ. I would say the entire thing was quite an experience both for me myself and the audiences attending the talk..Why is it an experience for me? ..well, cos most of the time, i just play my violin rather then giving speeches..haha.

Anyway, Accumulating my knowledge for the past two years of performing, organizing the band for weddings...we, Mosaic Music Entertainment not only provide the audiences with the more in depth information about how to go about selecting a band for weddings, or the kind of instruments combinations, repertories/ song choices, budgets, etc ...but also along with my good friends/ Music mates: Wilson on keys, Ben on sax, Shah on bass, Sudin on drums & singer Gina. We performed a few demos of what clients/ couples would expect in a wedding. In fact, it was a full 6 piece band...=)
Thank you to my band mates for kindly obliging to join me in this seminar! Thats what friends are for...=)

The turn out I would say was pretty encouraging, about 30 to 40 pax in total, including the vendors from Veralyne of Pretty N White, Mr.Lim of Vintage Cars, Kris & Louisa of That Special Occasion and many more......This taught/ gave me the confidence and experience to further improve my speeches in the future and be more informative as well. Despite talkin away for about a whole 1 and a half hour, i still feel now that there were a few points i left out which i should say. This i hope could be reached on my next seminar..*grins*

Finally, Gina Pinazales, my dear singer made it and sang two songs: Somewhere Over the Rainbow & Sunny, a more up tempo song..much to the applause of the audiences. Thanks Gina.=)

I would like to say a big thank you to all who attended and supported the workshop yest afternoon for making it a memorable one for me and yourself! I hope all were entertained by our short demos yest k *wink*

Honestly, nothing makes me more happy then seeing the Appreciation of music on the faces of my audiences!
